According to TW News, Cecilia Cheung recently appeared on a television program where she candidly spoke about the difficult period following the birth of her third son. She revealed that after undergoing a C-section and being discharged from the hospital, she returned home to find herself completely alone, with no one available to assist her during recovery. Still physically weak, she said she had to squat on the floor, which led to swelling and inflammation around her surgical incision.
Cheung explained that when she noticed something was wrong with her wound, she contacted her attending doctor for advice. However, the doctor was traveling abroad at the time and unable to provide immediate help. Faced with the situation, she said she had no choice but to rely on herself, using anti-inflammatory medication and ointments she had on hand to manage the condition temporarily. “At that moment, all I could do was apply the medicine myself and endure it until the doctor returned,” she recalled.

Her story surprised fellow guests on the show. Actress Carina Lau asked directly, “Was there really no one at home with you?” to which Cheung replied, “There truly was no one.” Veteran actress Liu Xiaoqing added, “She shared so many details that it felt very real to me.”
After the segment aired, keywords related to Cecilia Cheung’s story quickly climbed to the top of trending searches on Chinese social media platforms.
Public reaction has been mixed. Many viewers expressed sympathy and concern for the actress, while others questioned the credibility of her account, arguing that given her financial status, it would have been unlikely for her to have no assistance at all. Some critics also revisited her past statements, suggesting inconsistencies with her current claims.

Born in 1980, Cecilia Cheung rose to prominence in the late 1990s as one of Hong Kong cinema’s most recognizable actresses. In her personal life, she married actor Nicholas Tse in 2006, and the couple had two sons before divorcing in 2011. Following the split, Cheung chose a more private lifestyle, focusing on raising her children and carefully selecting her acting projects.
In 2018, she announced the birth of her third son without revealing the identity of the child’s father. Today, Cecilia Cheung is a mother of three boys and has repeatedly expressed her desire to dedicate the majority of her time to her family.
