BLACKPINK are currently in the spotlight thanks to their ongoing Deadline World Tour , which is scheduled to conclude in January. Alongside their tour, the group has also confirmed plans to make a full-group comeback with a new album in the near future heightening anticipation after a long period focused on individual solo activities.

With BLACKPINK remaining highly visible as a group, their presence has occasionally manifested in unexpected and troubling ways.
Recently, a video shared on X (formerly Twitter) went viral after an account posted it with a racist caption. The clip appeared to show the four BLACKPINK members physically fighting one another onstage during a performance.
However, the video was entirely fake.
The clip was generated using artificial intelligence and even included a visible AI label in the corner. Despite this, the post spread rapidly, drawing attention not only for its offensive framing but also for the growing dangers of AI-manipulated media.
While the video itself included exaggerated and unrealistic elements, fans expressed concern that more polished AI-generated content without obvious distortions could make it increasingly difficult to distinguish between real footage and fabricated videos. This raises serious questions about misinformation, defamation, and the potential harm to artists’ reputations.

These concerns intensified after the same video was reposted by other accounts without the AI label. Although later posts clarified that the footage was fake, the damage had already been done, with the video once again going viral and sparking widespread discussion among fans.
Many BLINKs pointed out that such content could easily be weaponized, especially when paired with racist or malicious narratives. Others emphasized that repeated exposure to convincing AI edits could erode public trust in real footage altogether.
This is not the first time AI-edited content has crossed legal lines in K-pop. Previously, Bang Chan of Stray Kids pursued legal action against individuals who created and spread manipulated AI content involving him, setting an important precedent within the industry.
As AI technology becomes more accessible, fans and industry insiders alike are calling for stronger safeguards and clearer legal consequences to prevent its misuse. The viral BLACKPINK video serves as another reminder that while AI can be creative, it can also be deeply harmful when used irresponsibly.
