Cha Eun-woo’s younger brother has been revealed to be a graduate of China’s elite Fudan University, and now works at a major startup drawing admiration for both his looks and brains.

The unexpected revelation came during the December 18th episode of MBC’s “Where Is My Home”, in which cast members Kim Sook, Jung Ji-sun, and Captain Brother traveled to Shanghai for a segment on global housing markets.

After enjoying a traditional Chinese breakfast of baozi, twisted doughnuts, and soy milk, the cast stumbled upon a wonton shop. While initially full, Kim Sook changed her mind after tasting the broth, leading to a humorous moment of enthusiastic eating.

While dining, a Korean international student approached and joined the group. The student recognized Captain Brother and introduced himself as a current student at Fudan University, one of China’s top institutions. When asked to compare Fudan with Tsinghua University, where Captain Brother studied, he diplomatically responded that each has its own strengths.

Curious about notable alumni, Kim Sook mentioned that Chinese President Xi Jinping is an alumnus of Tsinghua, prompting her to ask if Fudan had any famous graduates. The student surprised everyone by casually stating, “Cha Eun-woo’s brother studied at Fudan.”

Even Captain Brother acknowledged, “I have to admit, that’s impressive,” while Kim Sook jokingly exclaimed that Fudan might take the win in this friendly academic rivalry.

Cha Eun-woo (real name Lee Dong-min)’s younger brother, Lee Dong-hwi, graduated from Fudan University, previously worked at Cheil, and is now employed at a startup. He recently appeared on the “Sebasi Talk” platform as an AI expert, gaining attention for his intellect and poise. Cha Eun-woo had previously mentioned on a variety show that his brother was studying at one of China’s nine most prestigious universities. Fellow ASTRO members have remarked that Lee Dong-hwi looks even more like a celebrity than Cha himself.

“Where Is My Home” is a reality real estate show where celebrities help modern-day house hunters find their ideal homes. It airs every Thursday at 10 p.m. on MBC.
