BLACKPINK’s Rosé delighted global fans with a witty and heartfelt metaphor as she spoke about her hit song “APT.” during a recent interview with Apple Music.
Asked to evaluate the songs she personally wrote and composed, Rosé began with a laugh, saying, “I’ll call the songs I wrote my children.” She then singled out “APT.”, joking, “Among my kids, ‘APT.’ is the one that suddenly grew arms and legs on its own.”
She went on to exaggerate the song’s success in a way that had listeners laughing. “It went to Harvard Law School by itself, and after I gave birth to it, it just became president,” she said, highlighting how unexpectedly massive the track’s impact has been.
Continuing the analogy, Rosé added, “I feel like I’m the parent sitting at home in glasses, scrolling through SNS and feeling proud.” She jokingly exclaimed, “Oh my God, my fourth child did so well. What is happening?”

Released in 2025, “APT.” is widely regarded as one of the most dominant global hits of the year. The song made history by winning Song of the Year at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, marking the first time a K-pop artist has taken home the grand prize in that category.
The track’s success has extended to the Grammys as well, with three nominations, including Record of the Year and Song of the Year another historic first for a Korean artist. On Apple Music, “APT.” was named the most-streamed song in 55 countries, further cementing its worldwide reach.
Even a year after its release, “APT.” continues to dominate charts, ranking No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on global charts, proving that Rosé’s “child” is still thriving.
With her trademark humor and sincerity, Rosé once again showed why fans admire not only her artistry but also her grounded perspective watching her musical creations grow far beyond her expectations.
