Recently, TVING’s official YouTube channel uploaded the making film for episodes 9 and 10 of the OTT drama Dear X, titled “A hilarious but heart-fluttering chemistry between two acting geniuses.” The video immediately went viral for im Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon’s unexpectedly intimate and playful moments on set.
According to the footage, a VJ tells the duo, “This is your last scene together,” prompting Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon to share a warm, lingering hug. Their natural closeness created a visibly affectionate atmosphere, leading fans to gush over their chemistry. Kim Do-hoon added with a smile, “It’s my final shoot with my precious boss, Ah-jin,” showing a pink-hued mood on set. The two actors even took cute selfies together, radiating a soft, couple-like vibe.
When asked about her thoughts on Kim Do-hoon, Kim Yoo-jung praised him, saying, “He’s incredibly witty.” Meanwhile, Kim Do-hoon adorably pretended not to be listening, standing behind her with a playful expression. Kim Yoo-jung continued, “He really brightens up the atmosphere. I was always happy whenever Do-hoon appeared on set.”
She then teased him: “You’re good at saying it like you’re just reading something that was written for you.” Kim Do-hoon laughed and replied, “One of the reasons I decided to join Dear X right away was because Yoo-jung was leading the project,” sneaking glances at her throughout the interview and making the staff laugh.
Still, he delivered a heartfelt message: “Yoo-jung played Ah-jin so well—Ah-jin, who is the reason Jaewoo lives. She helped me a lot, and I was happy filming with her.” Kim Yoo-jung, standing behind him, flashed a mischievous V-sign over his head, showing off their comfortable and playful rapport.
The pair now head into the drama’s final episode, which airs on December 4.
Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon previously made headlines earlier this year after getting swept up in unexpected dating rumors the first in Kim Yoo-jung’s 23-year career.
The rumor surfaced after the Dear X cast and staff traveled to Vietnam for an MT in May, with some photos making it appear as if Kim Yoo-jung and Kim Do-hoon had traveled together privately.
During her interview on November 29, Kim Yoo-jung addressed the rumor with her trademark humor: “I actually have more photos (to prove we weren’t dating). I have like 100 photos.”
She added, “As soon as the article came out, Do-hoon and I called each other. We just laughed for about three minutes straight.”
She continued, “I joked that maybe this would help Dear X do well. And truly, I’m grateful that many viewers love not only Jun-seo and Ah-jin, but also Jae-woo and Ah-jin’s relationship.”
With their undeniable on-screen synergy and warm real-life friendship, it’s no surprise fans continue to buzz about their chemistry even if both actors have clarified that the romance exists only in the drama.
