Viewers criticized the romance as an afterthought and called the finale “chaotic and wasteful.”
2. Bon Appétit, Your Majesty
This time-travel historical rom-com had a promising start, with Yoona playing a Michelin-starred chef who wins over a Joseon tyrant through food. But from the midway point, the political intrigue flopped, and the time-travel plot was dismissed with a lazy “It’s a secret.” The ending left audiences baffled and angry: “A waste of strong leads for such a nonsensical conclusion.”
3. Typhoon Family
Starring Lee Junho and Kim Min Ha, this IMF-era drama started strong, blending workplace struggles and economic crises. But the second half derailed into melodramatic romance, sidelining the core business themes. The overly idealized finale—a news-style recap—was called “a classic case of starting strong, ending in failure.”
4. Twelve
Ma Dong Seok’s long-awaited return to TV in this action-fantasy with the Twelve Zodiac Guardians turned into disaster. Viewers slammed the series for its amateur choreography, unclear villain motives, and clunky pacing. It topped industry polls for “Worst Drama of 2025” and was even labeled “historically bad.”
5. Squid Game 3
Netflix’s once-iconic Squid Game overstayed its welcome. The third season repeated old themes, lacked impactful games, and failed to evolve characters meaningfully. Many fans felt it was a cash grab: “It should’ve ended with season one.”
6. When the Stars Gossip
Despite its $37 million budget and stars Lee Min Ho and Gong Hyo Jin, this space rom-com was ridiculed for absurd plotlines like “fruit fly mating” and “pregnancy in space.” Low chemistry and sluggish pacing made it one of tvN’s worst-rated weekend dramas ever.
7. My Youth
Song Joong Ki’s return to romance dramas flopped, with outdated tropes (amnesia, terminal illness, car accidents) and melodramatic clichés. Despite a stellar cast and crew, critics and viewers called it a “teen drama disguised as mature content.”
8. Heavenly Ever After
Praised early on for its tender portrayal of aging and regret, this healing drama starring Kim Hye Ja and Son Suk Ku lost control mid-way. Clumsy emotional twists and weak subplots undid its poetic start. Audiences were left disappointed by what could have been a genre-defining piece.
9. Good Boy
With a fresh concept—retired Olympic athletes become elite cops—Good Boy had potential. But despite its powerhouse cast (including Park Bo Gum and Kim So Hyun), the show ran out of steam with repetitive action and flat storytelling. Viewers lamented, “It had all the right ingredients, but no flavor.”

Taecyeon and Seohyun led this rom-com with strong early episodes filled with time-travel hijinks and playful romance. But the show took a darker turn with court politics and deviated heavily from the original web novel, alienating fans. The bittersweet ending left viewers with mixed feelings: “Cute start, chaotic finish.”
