On November 26, actor Heo Sung-tae, known globally for his role in Squid Game, appeared on the YouTube show “Nobacktak” to discuss his upcoming film The Informant.
During the conversation, he was asked whether he had many experience with bed scenes throughout his career. After hesitating, he surprised everyone by admitting, “There is a bed scene in this new movie.”

The confession immediately drew attention, especially because Heo Sung-tae had previously revealed on a TV program that he had promised his wife he would never film intimate scenes. At the time, he shared that he poured all his energy into other scenes in order to keep his promise.
During the interview, MC Tak Jae-hoon asked how Heo Sung-tae’s wife reacted after watching the new film’s bed scene. The actor replied, “She said, ‘Hmm… that must’ve been uncomfortable.’” He explained that they watched the intense R-rated scene together, adding, “I warned her beforehand so she wouldn’t be shocked. But she didn’t say anything afterward because the film itself turned out really well.”
However, the actor then opened up about a much more dramatic moment that happened years earlier, during the filming of his infamous bed scene in Squid Game.

He shared that due to required exposure, staff created a protective covering over his “sensitive area” and cleared the room to only minimal essential crew. After wrapping the scene, his co-star Kim Joo-ryoung suddenly began crying.
He recalled, “For me, it was just the relief of finishing the difficult scene. But she was crying, and suddenly all the crew looked at me strangely—as if I had done something wrong.”
He added with a laugh, “It felt like I became a pervert out of nowhere. People were giving me looks like, ‘Did Heo Sung-tae do something to her?’”
The behind-the-scenes story sparked amusement among viewers, highlighting the awkward and emotionally taxing nature of filming intimate scenes.
Meanwhile, Heo Sung-tae’s bold new transformation in the film The Informant is generating anticipation ahead of its theatrical release on December 3.
