Kim Soo Hyun’s legal representative has shared an official update regarding the ongoing investigation involving the actor, expressing concerns about the thoroughness of the police’s work while affirming that no change in the investigation team is being pursued.
On November 3, attorney Go Sang-rok, who represents Kim Soo Hyun, released a statement via his personal channel, saying, “While the police maintain that ‘a significant portion of the investigation has been conducted,’ I personally remain concerned about whether the investigation has genuinely addressed the core and essence of the case.”

Despite those concerns, Kim Soo Hyun’s side confirmed that they do not plan to request a new investigative team. “As of now, more than seven and a half months have passed since the initial complaint was filed on March 20. We currently have no intention or request to switch to a new investigation unit,” the lawyer added.
Since actively stepping in on September 30, Go Sang-rok has taken a public-facing role, defending the actor by addressing misinterpretations surrounding the case. “As too much time passed without adequate remedies for the victim, we had no choice but to release parts of Kim’s personal records to clarify distorted public perception,” he explained.
Seoul Police Commissioner Park Jeong-bo recently addressed the delays during a press briefing, noting that the case involving YouTuber Kim Se-ui was divided among multiple departments, which caused some slowdowns. He assured the media, “We plan to proceed with the investigation at a faster pace. The process will remain fair, and there is no need for concern.”

The investigation remains under the jurisdiction of the Gangnam Police Station, and Commissioner Park emphasized, “The investigation is already well underway and in its later stages. Therefore, we will continue with the current team without changes.”
Kim Soo Hyun is at the center of controversy following accusations that he had a relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron when she was still a minor. These claims were circulated through videos and posts on Kim Se-ui’s YouTube channel, including photos, letters, and a controversial audio recording allegedly describing their relationship timeline. One quote in particular “The first time (we had sex) was during winter break in my second year of middle school” sparked widespread shock and backlash.

In response, Kim Soo Hyun publicly denied ever dating Kim Sae Ron while she was underage. His legal team has filed both civil and criminal lawsuits against Kim Se-ui and Kim Sae Ron’s family, seeking ₩12 billion KRW (approx. $9 million USD) in damages, including defamation charges under Korea’s Information and Communications Network Act.
While the case continues to draw media and public attention, Kim Soo Hyun’s side remains firm in its legal stance, determined to pursue justice through proper procedures—despite concerns about how the investigation has unfolded so far.
