According to Josei Seven Plus , Katsumura met a woman in her 30s, identified as A-san, in December last year. She was introduced by a friend and described as a glamorous businesswoman with model-like looks. While their relationship initially revolved around casual drinking sessions, Katsumura’s affections grew more intense, ultimately declaring his love and urging her into a relationship—even claiming he was finalizing a divorce and had been separated for 15 years.
Despite her initial hesitation, A-san eventually believed him and entered what became a semi-cohabiting relationship.
However, things reportedly soured quickly. A-san described Katsumura as having a volatile temperament—prone to crying fits and irritated by trivial matters like a fridge door left open. More disturbingly, she revealed his obsessive communication habits, sending over 50 messages daily and frequently engaging in hours-long video calls about acting theories.
But the most shocking allegation involves a sexual harassment incident that took place during a drinking party with Katsumura’s acquaintances in April. A-san claims that after Katsumura stepped away to pay the bill, one of his actor friends suddenly grabbed her buttocks with such force that his fingers penetrated her , an act she described as “invasive and terrifying.”
She discreetly told Katsumura what had occurred, expecting support or outrage. Instead, he allegedly brushed it off, saying, “Really? That guy’s kind of bad, huh.” When she pushed the matter, Katsumura reportedly snapped, “I don’t even know that guy that well!”
Feeling dismissed and degraded, A-san later filed a police report, and the case is now being treated as a molestation incident. Katsumura did apologize in writing and confirmed that he had confronted the alleged perpetrator—referred to only as “X”—and even recorded his confession. However, A-san maintains that she never received a direct apology from X, and Katsumura’s lawyer eventually cut off all contact with her , suggesting she was acting out of financial motivation.
More troubling still, Katsumura and X reportedly ended up sharing the same legal representative—something A-san said made her feel like Katsumura condoned the harassment .
In response to the accusations, Katsumura issued a three-page handwritten apology, stating: “I sincerely apologize if my actions caused her pain. I only wish for her wounds to heal quickly.” He reiterated that he had tried to support her by contacting all attendees of the party and recording the harasser’s admission.
As of now, actor X is expected to be summoned by authorities for questioning. Katsumura’s image, once associated with loyalty and professionalism in Japan’s entertainment industry, has taken a serious hit—sparking public backlash and speculation about his future career.
