Pop king Jay Chou is reportedly preparing to take legal action against his longtime magician friend Tsai Wei-tse, after the latter allegedly disappeared with a massive Bitcoin investment worth between NT$100 million and NT$200 million (US$3–6 million).
Chou recently posted an Instagram Story “missing person” notice, revealing that Tsai once a close collaborator often seen performing at Chou’s private events had gone completely off the radar. Sources told local media that Tsai had been entrusted to manage Chou’s cryptocurrency portfolio but has been uncontactable for months.

According to reports, Tsai claimed last year that the Bitcoin account was “locked due to technical reasons.” Chou gave him a full year to resolve the issue, but neither the funds nor Tsai have resurfaced. Frustrated and angry, Chou publicly warned on social media:
“If you don’t show up soon, you’re done!”
He has since unfollowed Tsai on social media and is now reportedly preparing to file a formal lawsuit.
Taiwanese magician Jian Tzu came forward after the scandal broke, exposing Tsai’s alleged history of shady business dealings. Jian claimed that Tsai often left collaborators unpaid, failed to deliver promised products, and fabricated claims of having “Jay Chou’s backing” to attract deals.

Jian recalled one specific incident:
“I was working on a product with another magician when Tsai suddenly jumped in, offering dreamlike promises saying he could ‘make him a star’ and that he had ‘Jay Chou’s resources.’ But the contract was extremely unfair to the magician. Within the magic circle, Tsai’s reputation has long been tainted.”
The two were once known for their close friendship, with Tsai frequently appearing alongside Chou at private gatherings and events. The shocking turn of events from trusted collaborator to alleged scammer has sent shockwaves through both the entertainment and crypto investment circles.
Chou’s management has yet to release an official legal statement, but insiders suggest that a criminal complaint is imminent as efforts to locate Tsai continue.
