The Korean drama Ms. Incognito is experiencing a slight dip in viewership ratings, despite maintaining strong praise for its direction, gripping storyline, and solid cast. Though led by dependable “trustworthy actors” known for their consistent performances, the show has recently plateaued in the 5% viewership range, according to Nielsen Korea.

On October 21, episode 8 aired with a shocking twist: Kim Young Ran (played by Jeon Yeo Been) is ambushed by contract killer Gil Ho Se (Yang Kyung Won), under orders from Ga Sun Young (Jang Yoon Ju). That episode pulled in a 5.6% nationwide rating.

The episode built intense suspense as Young Ran, a former bodyguard turned kindergarten staff member, grows increasingly wary of the suspicious new shuttle bus driver, Gil Ho Se. Her instincts prove right when he breaks into her home with a weapon and flammable materials. Despite her fierce resistance, she’s ultimately overpowered by a drugged attack.

Meanwhile, her ally Baek Hye Ji (Joo Hyun Young) arrives only to be brutally assaulted by Gil Ho Se, leaving her bloodied and unconscious—sending Young Ran into a state of shock. The episode ends on a chilling note as Gil Ho Se points a gun at Young Ran’s head.

Ms. Incognito began with a modest 2.4% rating for its first episode but quickly gained traction, doubling to 5.1% by episode 4. Episode 5 hit a series high of 5.9%, but the numbers have since held steady or declined slightly: 5.8% for episode 6, and 5.6% for both episodes 7 and 8.

Despite the ratings plateau, the drama remains a hot topic for its emotional performances and thrilling developments. Viewers are now eager to see whether Kim Young Ran will survive the life-threatening ordeal, and whether these high-stakes scenes will spark another ratings boost in the coming episodes.
