Eight months after the tragic passing of her sister, the late Barbie Hsu, Dee Hsu, sister-in-law of DJ Koo Jun-yup, made an emotional return to the public eye and moved the Taiwanese audience to tears.

On October 17, Taiwanese outlet ETtoday reported that Dee Hsu appeared at the 60th Golden Bell Awards, both as a presenter and award recipient, marking her first official appearance since her sister’s passing.

During the ceremony, Dee Hsu received the Variety Show Host Award, delivering a heartfelt acceptance speech that deeply touched the audience. “My sister blessed me and brought me here tonight,” she said tearfully, pointing to the necklace she wore. “A part of my sister is inside this. Whenever I miss her, I feel like she’s with me.”

Fighting back tears, she continued, “I always carry my sister in my heart and wear her name around my neck.” Regarding her future in broadcasting, she cautiously added, “It may not be as scary to return as I thought, but I’m still unsure about when the right time will be.”

Her return drew significant attention across Taiwan and greater China. Many were astonished by how much Dee Hsu now resembles her late sister, both in appearance and demeanor. Observers noted that her face and figure looked fuller, reminiscent of Barbie Hsu’s features during her prime.
