Acclaimed actress Song Hye-kyo recently shared that there was a point in her career when acting no longer felt exciting. In a past interview with Sports Chosun, she admitted that she had grown weary of repeating similar roles, to the point where performing no longer brought her joy.
Song Hye-kyo shared, “Acting was always fun, challenging, and difficult, but at some point, I felt a bit tired because I wasn’t doing various productions… I was always shown the same way, and I thought that people would think I’m boring because even I felt like I was boring. Maybe that’s why I didn’t enjoy acting anymore.”

That all changed when she took on the role in The Glory. The two-part series, which captivated global audiences with its intense storyline of revenge and school bullying, helped her rediscover her love for acting.
“I started enjoying acting again when I did The Glory. The roles I received afterwards have also become more diverse than before.”
Following her experience in The Glory, Song Hye-kyo expressed eagerness to explore roles and genres she hasn’t tried before. From horror and thrillers to villainous characters and lighthearted romantic comedies, she is open to broadening her creative range.

“There are a lot of things I haven’t done yet. I’ve done many melodramas since I was young, but there are still so many genres I haven’t tried. I want to try horror, thrillers, and play a villain. I also want to do a romantic comedy that is sillier and full of humor.”
Since debuting as a school uniform model in 1996, Song Hye-kyo has become one of Korea’s most iconic actresses. She rose to fame through sitcoms like Soonpoong Clinic and continued to captivate audiences in legendary works such as Autumn in My Heart (2000), All In (2003), Full House (2004), and Descendants of the Sun (2016).

With the success of The Glory, Song Hye-kyo entered a second career peak, impressing audiences with her nuanced performances. She continues to showcase her talent in projects like the film Dark Nuns, solidifying her position as a versatile and respected actress.
Beyond acting, Song Hye-kyo has established herself as a global fashion icon, influencing trends around the world. Her professionalism, dedication, and willingness to take on new challenges have made her a role model in the entertainment industry.
