On September 25, the “GYM JONG KOOK” YouTube channel released a video titled “I’m Not an Actor Trainer… (Feat. Im Si-wan, Park Gyu-young, Jo Woo-jin).” During the conversation, Kim confided to lawyer Park Min-cheol, “I had a small wedding, and some people felt upset about not being invited as guests. But if the couple decides to hold a small wedding for personal reasons, isn’t that something most people should understand?” He added that the lack of understanding from some friends left him feeling disappointed. Park responded by bluntly advising, “If they can’t understand that, it’s time to cut ties.”
Kim also revealed that some friends still insisted on sending congratulatory money despite not being invited. “Even my younger friends said they wanted to give wedding gifts, but of course, I told them it wasn’t necessary,” he shared.
Kim Jong-kook tied the knot with a non-celebrity bride on September 5 in Seoul. The intimate ceremony was held with fewer than 100 attendees, limited to close family members and relatives. The venue remained undisclosed until the day before, even to guests, as the singer wished to maintain strict privacy.

Public reaction to his wedding has been mixed. While many applauded his choice saying, “It’s his personal decision, so let’s support him” and “Privacy is his right” others criticized the extreme secrecy, commenting, “That level of secrecy feels excessive” and “I’ve never seen a celebrity hide their wedding so much.”
