After a decade of keeping their love away from the public eye, actors Yoon Sun-woo and Kim Ga-eun have officially announced their marriage. The couple, whose relationship began on set, revealed they will tie the knot in a private ceremony attended only by family and close friends this October.

On July 1, both actors’ agencies released statements confirming the news. Yoon Sun-woo’s agency, 935 Entertainment, said: “Actor Yoon Sun-woo will marry actress Kim Ga-eun, whom he has been dating for a long time, this October. Please give your warm blessings and support to the couple as they embark on this new chapter in life.” Kim Ga-eun’s agency PrainTPC echoed the message, stressing that all details of the wedding will remain private.

The next day, both Yoon Sun-woo and Kim Ga-eun shared their feelings on Instagram. Yoon wrote: “We will continue to be a strong presence for one another, cherishing and respecting each other as we build our days together.” Kim Ga-eun added: “We will stay by each other’s side, beautifully and happily, just as we always have.”
The two first met in the 2015 KBS 2TV drama TV Novel: Abiding Love Dandelion, where they played a couple. They reunited in 2017’s SBS drama Reunited Worlds as siblings, further strengthening their bond. What began as an on-screen pairing developed into a real-life romance that quietly lasted for 10 years, now culminating in marriage.
Reports on September 18 suggested the wedding date would be October 26, though Yoon’s agency declined to confirm due to the private nature of the event.
Shortly after, on September 19, Kim Ga-eun uploaded a heartfelt proposal video to her YouTube channel, titled “Proposal…?? I’ll do it, because I’m a Teto girl.” The video showed her preparing a surprise event for Yoon Sun-woo’s birthday. She picked up a cake with the words “Will you marry me?” written on top, decorated their home with balloons and candles, and nervously awaited his arrival. Despite joking about her decorations being clumsy, Kim Ga-eun laughed it off, saying the cake would “make up for everything.”
When Yoon arrived, he was touched by the gesture, walking down the candle-lit path before warmly embracing Kim and saying: “It’s beautiful. Did you prepare all this, honey? Thank you for all your effort.”
Yoon Sun-woo, who debuted in 2003 through EBS’s Environment Sentai Genta Force, has since appeared in My Only One, Bulgasal: Immortal Souls, and She Would Never Know. Kim Ga-eun, who debuted as an SBS talent recruit in 2009, has impressed audiences with her nuanced acting in Discovery of Romance, I Can Hear Your Voice, Itaewon Class, and Because This Is My First Life.
Following their marriage announcement, the couple has been sharing glimpses of their wedding preparations and everyday moments together through Kim Ga-eun’s YouTube channel, delighting fans with their sincerity and warmth.
