Actress Han Chae-young, once celebrated as the “most beautiful woman in Boys Over Flowers,” has recently sparked debate in China following her appearance in livestream sales events.

Viewers noted that the actress looked noticeably different compared to her past public appearances. Many commented that her face appeared stiff and unnatural, with speculation about possible cosmetic procedures. On Weibo, some users accused her of relying heavily on beauty filters, which blurred her facial features and made her chin appear unusually small.

Others observed that Han Chae-young seemed to struggle while speaking, opening her mouth only slightly. Some netizens suggested this might be due to filler treatments around her smile lines.
Beyond her looks, the actress was also criticized for her performance during the livestreams. Much of the product introduction was handled by her assistant in Chinese, while Han Chae-young read along with minimal interaction. The broadcasts typically lasted only about 30 minutes, far shorter than those of local Chinese celebrities, leading viewers to call her “unprofessional.”

Her promotion of skincare products also raised doubts, as some pointed out visible signs of cosmetic enhancements that contradicted the items she was endorsing.

Han Chae-young debuted in 2000, gaining attention in Autumn in My Heart and achieving stardom with Sassy Girl Chun-hyang (2005). Her cameo role as Min Seo-hyun in Boys Over Flowers (2009) earned her the nickname “the most beautiful woman in Boys Over Flowers.” Known as Korea’s “Barbie doll,” she has appeared in dramas such as Only You, Ad Genius Lee Tae-baek, Pretty Man, and most recently Snow White’s Revenge (2024).

She married businessman Choi Dong-joon in 2007 and is the mother of one son.
