Lee Jun-young, one of 2025’s hottest actors, is set to headline JTBC’s upcoming drama New Employee Chairman Kang.
Scheduled to premiere in 2026, the series (created by Kim Soon-ok, written by Hyun Ji-min, and directed by Go Hye-jin) tells the unique “remind life” story of Kang Yong-ho, the chairman of Korea’s top conglomerate Choisung Group, who is forced to live a second life after an unexpected accident.
The drama is based on the web novel New Employee Chairman Kang by author San Kyung, who also wrote the original story behind Reborn Rich, the record-breaking 2022 hit miniseries. Adding to the anticipation, star writer Kim Soon-ok—famous for The Penthouse series and Temptation of Wife—joins as creator.
Lee Jun-young will take on the role of Hwang Jun-hyun, a first-division soccer player who suddenly collides with fate. After a shocking accident, his soul swaps with that of Kang Yong-ho, the brilliant CEO who built Choisung Group, ranked among the top 10 conglomerates. Instead of chasing dreams in the Premier League, Kang Yong-ho (inside Hwang’s body) starts a new life as a rookie employee, reshaping corporate history with his sharp business mind in a youthful body.
Audiences can look forward to Lee Jun-young’s dynamic performance as he portrays both the passionate energy of a young athlete and the seasoned charisma of a veteran businessman. His dual role is expected to showcase a completely new side of him, expanding his acting range even further.
