Actor Jung Sung-il, widely recognized for his role in The Glory, surprised viewers with a candid confession about his financial struggles.
In a pre-released clip of MBN and Channel S’s variety program “Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2”, Jung Sung-il reflected on his long road as an actor, revealing that he continued working part-time jobs even after The Glory ended.
When host Jeon Hyun-moo asked about his debut, Jung Sung-il explained, “I did theater for about five years. I loved it so much that I kept performing in Daehak-ro after dropping out of university at 21. I packed my bags and went straight to Seoul.”
He admitted that the long years of obscurity were difficult to endure: “I survived by doing part-time jobs while performing in small plays. I’ve done almost everything—mostly driving-related jobs like designated driving and valet parking. At one point, I opened a shop in the morning, managed parking during the day, and worked at a wine bar in the evening.”

The most shocking revelation came when Jung Sung-il said, “Honestly, I even worked part-time jobs after The Glory ended.” His honesty highlighted the harsh reality of an actor’s life behind the glamour of a hit series, drawing sympathy from fans.
Jung Sung-il’s appearance on “Jeon Hyun-moo Plan 2” will air on August 22 at 9:10 PM KST, where he is expected to share more about his journey from struggling theater actor to rising star.
