On August 17, the actress successfully wrapped up her run in the play Death Song at the LG Arts Center Seoul, U+ Stage. Taking on the role of Yun Sim-deok, Korea’s first soprano who lived through the tumultuous 1920s, Jeon So-min captivated audiences with a heartfelt performance that resonated until the very final curtain call.
Though Death Song marked her theater debut, Jeon So-min steadily grew into her role across the performances, crafting a version of Yun Sim-deok that was both vulnerable and strong. Each night, she brought laughter, tears, and emotional depth to the stage, receiving thunderous applause from the audience.
After the final performance, Jeon expressed her gratitude:
“Standing on stage and meeting the audience for the first time was a time of excitement and fear. I was able to perform thanks to the audience who filled each overwhelming moment with me, as well as the fellow actors and staff who supported me.”
She added,
“The feeling of truly existing in the theater was indescribable. I will carry the excitement I felt through this play with me as I move forward. Thank you sincerely.”
Known for her ability to switch seamlessly between comedy, drama, and film, Jeon So-min has already proven her talents on both the big and small screen. With Death Song, she has now expanded her artistry into theater, a move that reflects her drive to continually challenge herself and grow as an actress.

Jeon So-min stepped down from SBS’s long-running variety show Running Man in November 2023, after six years as a beloved cast member. While fans missed her vibrant presence on the program, her recent achievements demonstrate that she has been channeling her energy into exploring new artistic paths.
Following her successful stage debut, Jeon is preparing for her next big-screen project. She will star in the upcoming film Only God Knows Everything, set to premiere in theaters on August 22.
