On August 12, 2025, Kseniya Alexandrova, who represented Russia in the 2017 Miss Universe pageant, passed away at the age of 30, succumbing to injuries from a devastating car accident that occurred on July 5.

According to international media including People and Russian outlet RIA Novosti, Alexandrova was traveling with her husband on a highway in Russia when a wild elk suddenly jumped onto the road. The vehicle collided with the large animal, which violently crashed through the windshield. The elk’s leg struck Alexandrova in the head, causing severe trauma.

While her husband, who was driving, survived without life-threatening injuries, Alexandrova was rendered unconscious immediately and rushed to the hospital. She remained in a coma for over a month, but tragically never regained consciousness and died from complications of the injury.

Her grieving husband recalled the horrific moment in an interview with Russian press, saying: “It all happened in a split second — from the elk’s jump to the impact. There was nothing we could do. The elk flew into the car and hit her head. She passed out immediately, and there was blood everywhere.”

The tragedy is compounded by the fact that the couple had been married just four months before the accident.

Alexandrova gained national attention after placing in the Miss Russia 2017 pageant and going on to represent her country in that year’s Miss Universe competition. Beyond her beauty and poise, she was known for her warmth and charisma both on and off the stage.

The Miss Russia Organization released a heartfelt statement: “Kseniya was not only our colleague but also a beloved friend with a heart full of kindness. We send our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.”

Her modeling agency, Modus Vivendis, also expressed its sorrow: “Kseniya was a bright, talented soul who inspired and uplifted everyone around her. She will forever remain a symbol of beauty, kindness, and inner strength.”

The global modeling and pageant community now mourns the loss of a true icon whose life was cut tragically short.
