Taiwanese actor Jerry Yan was seen in tears while visiting the grave of the late Barbie Hsu, his longtime friend and co-star in the hit drama Meteor Garden.
Local media, including ETtoday, reported that on August 13, Jerry Yan visited Barbie Hsu’s gravesite at Mount Jinbao, accompanied by the actress’s close friends, the couple Jia Yongjie. At the site, he appeared deeply saddened and was seen wiping away tears. Jia Yongjie comforted him with a reassuring pat on the shoulder.

“Jia Yongjie mentioned that while we don’t know exactly what he said at the grave, I told her, ‘Shancai, Tao Ming Si has come to see you,’” reported one witness.
Jerry Yan and Barbie Hsu famously starred as Tao Ming Si and Shancai in the Taiwanese adaptation of Boys Over Flowers, Meteor Garden, which became a beloved series across Asia. Their on-screen chemistry was matched by a 24-year off-screen friendship that endured long after filming wrapped.

When Barbie Hsu’s passing was announced in February, Jerry Yan described her as a pivotal figure in his life, saying she had given him “invaluable advice and an inspiring approach to life.”
The actress tragically died of pneumonia during a family trip to Japan. Her husband, DJ Koo Jun-yup of the music group Clone, has reportedly visited her gravesite for the past five months, touching the hearts of many fans.
