A Malaysian woman has captured global attention after revealing how her pregnancy drastically altered her appearance — making her look decades older — and is now using her platform to speak about the lesser-discussed realities of pregnancy.

Farah Faizal, a 28-year-old content creator known online as @ayyitslala, welcomed a healthy child earlier this year. Married for three years, she had expected to experience the much-talked-about “pregnancy glow,” but instead faced a series of unexpected and severe skin changes.

Survived 9 months of chaos, cried over my face more than I’d like to admit, and now I’m officially someone’s mom 😭✨ Healing in progress…

By her second month of pregnancy, Faizal began developing pustule pimples, redness, and what she described as “pregnancy nose.” By the eighth month, deep wrinkles had formed, and by the time she gave birth, she said her skin resembled that of someone decades older.

Since then, her skin condition has gradually improved, and she has shared photos of herself with her baby, looking more like her pre-pregnancy self. Throughout the ordeal, she credits her husband’s unwavering support for helping her endure what she called “nine months of chaos.”

Faizal has since turned her viral moment into a platform for education, highlighting the physical and mental tolls pregnancy can take. She noted that while her case was extreme, more than 40% of pregnant individuals experience acne due to hormonal changes. Other lesser-known side effects include bleeding gums, tooth loss, and permanent skin discoloration.
