Singer Mose, best known for his 2005 hit ballad It’s Love, has revealed that he is now living with a mild disability following a life-changing car accident in 2019.

Appearing on the August 11 episode of KBS1’s AM Plaza in the “Living Legends” segment, Mose — who now performs under the trot stage name Chun-gil — shared the details of his ordeal.

“I was in a car accident in 2019 and struggled with the aftereffects for nearly two years,” he recalled. “After visiting several hospitals, I finally learned at the last one that I had a rare disease. I underwent major cervical spine surgery, which left me with a mild disability. Because the surgery was done from the front of the neck, there was a risk of vocal cord damage, and in severe cases, paralysis. Thankfully, I wasn’t paralyzed.”

Although his vocal cords are “not at 100%” since the operation, Mose expressed his determination to care for them diligently and continue performing.

Mose debuted in 2005 and quickly rose to fame with It’s Love. Late last year, he transitioned to the trot genre, adopting the name Chun-gil as a tribute to his late father. He gained renewed attention earlier this year after finishing fourth on TV CHOSUN’s Mr. Trot 3.
