Manchester United supporters were left surprised after Jadon Sancho’s name was spotted in the club’s newly renovated £50 million dressing room at Carrington.
In particular, during a guided tour attended by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and club executives, cameras caught a locker bearing Sancho’s name. Notably, it was the only locker in the room without a shirt number.
Sancho, along with Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia, has been excluded from first-team plans under head coach Ruben Amorim. Since United’s return from their U.S. pre-season tour, the quartet has trained separately and maintained different schedules to avoid contact with the main squad.
Despite their “exile”, each still has a locker and coat hook in the new facility, equipped with a touchscreen for training updates. Sancho’s locker placement near the doorway drew humorous and sarcastic fan comments online, with one quipping, “A locker for Sancho?,” and another remarking, “It’s right by the exit, I guess he’s leaving soon.”
The winger, alongside the other excluded players, missed the summer tour and has been instructed to find a new club. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford has joined Barcelona on loan and recently became the first English player since Gary Lineker to score for Barcelona, netting in a 5-0 win over Daegu FC in South Korea.
