On August 1, a video titled “Hey guys, Bo-young is in a new drama—leave her nice comments!” was uploaded on Hyeri’s YouTube channel. The video featured Lee Bo-young as a guest on “Hyell’s club”, promoting her return to television in MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “Mary Kills People”. During the segment, she answered various fan questions with sincerity.
When asked “If you were reborn with your current memories, would you still become an actor?”, Lee Bo-young replied, “I like being an actor. I think I’ve been very lucky.” She elaborated, “Acting isn’t something that you can succeed in just by trying hard. You need to be chosen and loved by the public. I’ve been very fortunate in that regard.”
She added, “If I were to be born again and luck followed me once more, I’d definitely choose acting again. But it’s a tough career if you don’t have that luck, even with all the effort.”
When Hyeri followed up with “What if your next life is as successful as now?”, Lee nodded, saying, “If people seek me out and I can still be relevant and consumed by the public, then yes, I’d do it again.”
Lee also opened up about a frequently asked question: whether she would support her children if they chose to become actors. “If my kids wanted to act, I’d be happy for them,” she admitted. “But I do think about this: it’s a job where success depends on the public’s love and response. That kind of luck is really hard to come by.”
Lee Bo-young married fellow actor Ji Sung in 2013. The couple shares a daughter and a son, and her candid comments have sparked conversations among fans, many of whom are now curious if the children of this beloved star couple will one day step into the spotlight themselves.
