A woman who recently ignited an online firestorm with allegations of a hush payment involving a double-dating scandal has issued a formal apology—clearing the names of actors Lee Jang-woo and On Joo-wan in the process.
Posting under the pseudonym ‘A’ on a workplace community forum, she initially claimed her ex-boyfriend’s agency transferred her 8 million KRW (approximately $6,200) to prevent her from revealing details that could disrupt his upcoming appearance on a marriage-themed reality show with his new partner.
She clarified that the man in question was not a trending actor but someone familiar to the general public, especially those in their 30s and older. However, the ambiguous nature of her statements led netizens to speculate wildly, with names like Lee Jang-woo and On Joo-wan trending online.

Both actors swiftly denied any involvement. Lee Jang-woo posted a brief message stating, “ㅇㅈㅇ is not me. Please stop calling. I am working,” while On Joo-wan’s agency also dismissed the claims, affirming he had no connection to the situation.
Facing growing backlash and witnessing the spread of false accusations, A returned with a follow-up post expressing regret. She stated she never disclosed her ex-boyfriend’s identity, initials, or occupation, and never meant to cause harm. “I didn’t anticipate such speculation,” she said. “What started as a personal plea for advice turned into a witch hunt.”
She emphasized that none of the celebrities mentioned by the media or public were involved and apologized to those who faced unwarranted suspicion. “I saw innocent people being hurt because of me. That was never my intention.”

A concluded her message by revealing that she met with the parties involved the previous day and settled the matter privately. “Everything has been resolved in person,” she wrote. “I received a sincere apology and now want to focus on recovery. This will be my final statement.”
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of online speculation and the real-world consequences of misinformation especially in the entertainment industry, where public figures are often wrongly caught in the crossfire.
