On July 28, ASTRO member and actor Cha Eun-woo officially began his military service, enlisting at the Army Training Center where he’ll undergo five weeks of basic training before serving in the Army Military Band.
Among those who came to see him off was Choi Yoojung, former member of Weki Meki and current actress under the same agency, Fantagio. Her presence at the enlistment site touched fans, bringing attention once again to the deep, long-lasting friendship between the two.
Choi Yoojung later shared a heartfelt message on social media along with a group photo featuring herself, Cha Eun-woo with his freshly shaved head, and fellow ASTRO members. She captioned it:
“Come back safe and healthy.”
Their friendship dates back over a decade, and fans have long admired their natural chemistry. A notable example came from a 2018 couple photoshoot for a sportswear brand. In the shoot, the two—known for their nicknames “Face Genius” (Cha Eun-woo) and “Nation’s Cutie” (Choi Yoojung)—playfully interacted, showcasing their adorable dynamic. The moment where they played rock-paper-scissors despite a noticeable 30cm height difference even earned the label “metaphorical chemistry.”
