Ju Jingyi has long been hailed as one of the most beautiful Chinese celebrities born in the 1990s. Often referred to as the “4,000-year beauty” for her ethereal and delicate appearance, she became a media darling not only in China but also across Asia. However, recent discussions in Korea have reignited controversy surrounding her beauty origins.
Ju Jingyi, who rose to fame through SNH48 and has since become one of China’s top female celebrities, was shown in these pre-debut images with tanned skin, average facial features, and a much rounder jawline a stark contrast to her now ethereal, porcelain-like appearance.

The transformation has led many to believe that Ju Jingyi underwent multiple cosmetic procedures, including double eyelid surgery, jaw shaving, nose lifts, and even skin whitening injections.

More controversially, fans claim her look changes every year. In early 2025, Ju Jingyi was once again in the spotlight when she appeared with an unnaturally sharp nose, elongated chin, and what some called a “frozen expression.”

Despite the mounting evidence and public suspicion, Ju Jingyi has remained silent about all plastic surgery accusations. She has, however, addressed the viral “4,000-year beauty” title, clarifying in an old interview:
“It was a miscommunication. A Japanese media outlet once called me ‘a rare idol to see in 4,000 years,’ and my company ran with it. I didn’t even know when that nickname started.”
Born in 1994, Ju Jingyi debuted in 2013 and officially joined SNH48 in 2014. Though beloved for her fairy-like visuals today, the resurfacing of her past photos has left many wondering: How far is too far in the name of beauty?
