rescene love attack melon no 1

The members of RESCENE were overcome with emotion after their song “LOVE ATTACK” completed a remarkable chart reversal and reached No. 1 on the Melon Top 100.

On the night of July 8, the group held a short livestream on their official channel titled, “It’s All Thanks to REMINE.”

The members appeared on camera wearing pajamas and baseball caps. As of 10 p.m. that evening, “LOVE ATTACK,” the title track from RESCENE’s first mini album released in August 2024, had climbed to No. 1 on the Melon Top 100. Having already shed plenty of tears before going live, the members repeatedly thanked their fandom, REMINE, saying, “This is unbelievable. It’s all thanks to REMINE.”

May shared, “We never planned to greet everyone wearing hats like this, but No. 1 happened so suddenly. We never expected it.”

Liv explained, “We actually had to leave soon, so we were sleeping. Then we heard that we had reached No. 1 and rushed here as quickly as we could.”

Woni added, “We have to go to work in an hour, but what’s more important than this? Forget sleep let’s turn on the livestream.” May continued, “Thank you so much, REMINE. We have to work even harder from now on. We’ll do our best.”

The members were equally surprised to learn that their new single “Pretty Girl,” a remake of KARA’s hit song, had climbed to No. 6 on the Melon Top 100. Woni exclaimed, “This isn’t a dream, right? I’m not still asleep, am I?” while struggling to contain her excitement.

Woni thanked fans, saying, “Thank you for making us a No. 1 group. Thanks to REMINE, we can walk proudly wherever we go.”

As the conversation continued, Woni, Zena, and Minami became emotional while recalling the difficult times the group had endured. Woni said, “You all worked so hard. REMINE worked so hard too.”

The emotional atmosphere deepened when Liv revealed that she had been writing letters to the members. “I was actually writing letters to everyone. I planned to give them to the members along with vitamins before we left,” she said, handing out the handwritten notes, which caused another round of tears.

May joked through tears, “If we read these right now, we’re going to be in trouble.” Woni added, “If we read them now, we won’t be performing Pretty Girl we’ll have to perform Ugly Girl.”

May explained, “We went live because we wanted to share this happiness with everyone. We really didn’t expect to cry.”

Woni revealed that everyone at their agency had celebrated the achievement. “As soon as we reached No. 1, all the staff congratulated us. Our CEO and director also called to tell us we worked hard.” Minami also expressed her gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much to everyone at The Muze.”

Woni thanked fans once again, saying, “REMINE, thank you for streaming our songs so hard, even this late at night.” May added, “Thank you for listening to our music so much.”

Before ending the broadcast, Woni said, “Thank you so much for giving us No. 1. We love you, REMINE.” May promised, “We’ll do even better. We’ll work even harder.” Woni also took the opportunity to promote the group’s comeback, asking fans to continue supporting RESCENE’s “Pretty Girl” promotions.

RESCENE debuted as a five-member girl group in March 2024. Recently, leader Woni attracted widespread attention through her personal YouTube channel, “Hello, I’m Woni. Nice to Meet You,” where her gyaru-inspired content and regional dialect videos went viral. Her catchphrase, “Geoje Yaho,” quickly became a popular meme, bringing new public attention to the group and helping spark the unexpected resurgence of “LOVE ATTACK.” Riding that momentum, RESCENE released the special single “Pretty Girl” on July 8 and is currently promoting the song on Korean music shows.
