On March 15, China Times reported that Barbie Hsu’s burial ceremony was held at Chin Pao San Cemetery in New Taipei, Taiwan. This morning, Koo Jun Yup, representing the family, carried Barbie Hsu’s urn to the burial site. The ashes of the “Meteor Garden” star were laid to rest in the rose garden area of Chin Pao San Cemetery.

According to reporters present, Barbie Hsu’s husband appeared frail and kept his head down throughout the procession. He trembled in tears while holding his wife’s urn during the burial ceremony. Due to the Taiwanese custom that “the elderly should not bid farewell to the young”, Barbie Hsu’s mother could not attend the final send-off. Her younger sister Dee Hsu chose to stay in the car with their mother to comfort and support her. Dee Hsu’s husband assisted his brother-in-law with the funeral arrangements and took care of Barbie Hsu’s two children. Other family members also braved the rain to pay their final respects. However, Barbie Hsu’s ex- husband Wang Xiaofei was absent.

Barbie Hsu passed away in Japan on February 2 and was cremated before her remains were brought back to Taiwan. Initially, the family planned to keep her ashes at home, but this was met with opposition from neighbors. Dee Hsu later announced that her sister would be buried using an eco-friendly tree burial method without a tombstone. According to Dee Hsu, this was Barbie Hsu’s wish during her lifetime. The family also wanted Barbie Hsu to rest peacefully and become one with nature after her passing.

However, Koo Jun Yup opposed this idea as he wanted a proper memorial space and did not want his wife to completely vanish into dust. After multiple discussions, the family ultimately agreed to bury Barbie Hsu’s ashes at Chin Pao San Cemetery and erect a bronze statue in her memory. Thus, after more than a month since her passing, Barbie Hsu has finally found her resting place.
