It has been revealed that Barbie Hsu‘s current husband Koo Jun-yup, not her ex-husband Wang Xiaofei, is listed as one of the inheritors.
On March 3, Taiwanese media outlet ET Today reported, “Barbie Hsu’s estate has been inherited by Koo Jun-yup and her two children according to the law. The inheritance shares of the underage children will be managed by their biological father Wang Xiaofei until they turn 18.”
According to the report, the late actress’s estate has been evenly divided into three parts, with one-third allocated to her husband Koo Jun-yup and the remaining two-thirds split equally between her two children.
Contrary to expectations of a legal battle with her ex-husband Wang Xiaofei, the inheritance settlement was reportedly reached smoothly. Previously, Barbie Hsu’s mother had made headlines when she stated “I will do as Wang Xiaofei wishes”, leading to speculation about possible disputes or compromises regarding the inheritance.
Ultimately, it appears that Barbie Hsu’s family and her ex-husband Wang Xiaofei have peacefully agreed on the inheritance division.
Additionally, there were reports that Wang Xiaofei has no immediate plans to take their two underage children to Beijing, China. He is said to be prioritizing the children’s well-being in making any future decisions.
Koo Jun-yup and the late Barbie Hsu originally dated in 1998 but broke up. In 2022, Koo Jun-yup publicly announced via social media, “I want to continue the love that was left unfinished 20 years ago. When I heard about her divorce, I found her old phone number and reached out. Thankfully, her number hadn’t changed, and we were able to reconnect.” That same year, they legally registered their marriage in both South Korea and Taiwan.
Barbie Hsu spent the Lunar New Year holidays in Japan with her family, including Koo Jun-yup, before tragically passing away from pneumonia caused by influenza on February 2. Koo Jun-yup has since canceled all his scheduled activities, evoking deep sympathy from fans and the public.
