The 2024 MAMA Awards took place on the afternoon of November 23 at the iconic Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan. The prestigious ceremony was hosted by actress Kim Tae-ri, who guided the event with elegance and charm.
On this day, Lee Joo-bin took the stage with Im Si-wan to present the Best Female Group award. After announcing aespa as the winner, Lee Joo-bin took a step to the side but unexpectedly stumbled, drawing a gasp from the audience. In a quick and caring response, Im Si-wan immediately reached out and grabbed her hand to steady her.
Though visibly startled by the incident, Lee Joo-bin composed herself and took a moment to catch her breath offstage. Demonstrating professionalism, she returned to the spotlight with poise and continued the ceremony by presenting the Favorite Asian Artist award, maintaining her calm and composure throughout.
Later on on November 26, the actress mentioned the falling incident in a humorous light, saying, “My tailbone is totally fine”, on her SNS updates filled with photos taken at the 2024 MAMA. It seems that Lee Joo-bi think of her fall as nothing but a hilarious memory.
Meanwhile, the 2024 MAMA Awards began on November 21 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and are being held in two chapters in Japan on November 22 and 23. Performers at the event included G-Dragon, SEVENTEEN, (G)I-DLE, ZEROBASEONE, aespa, BIBI, MEOVV, and INI.
