A funeral for the martial arts star Norman Chui Siu-keung and his wife was held on October 5 using Buddhist rites. The actor’s former lover, actress Shirley Yim, also attended the ceremony.
On October 5, Norman Chui’s five children held a memorial service for their parents at Universal Funeral in their hometown of Hong Kong (China).
Actress Shirley Yim arrived at 4:30 p.m., looking sad as she entered the funeral home, and avoided being interviewed. During his lifetime, the actor and Shirley Yim had a famous love affair that attracted a lot of media attention, but they never got married.
According to HK01, the funeral room was simply decorated, with flower baskets placed on both sides of the deceased’s portrait. In the middle hung a photo of Norman Chui and his wife, and wreaths from his five children and the actor’s colleagues were placed in front.

At the memorial service, actor Danny Lee Sau Yin shared, “We met in an artist training class and have known each other for 53 years. He has a good personality. Whether he has money or not, he will pay for the meals. His personality is like that…”
The 72-year-old actor said that two months before his death, the two met in Hong Kong (China). “At that time, we saw that he was fine, but we knew about his illness and advised him to return to Hong Kong for treatment. He had a stubborn personality so he returned to Beijing.”
Norman Chui was born in 1950 and is a famous Hong Kong martial arts actor. He is famous for his notorious villainous roles on screen.
