Recently, streaming platform Netflix published a report revealing its most watched contents around the world in the 1st half of 2024.
This Netflix engagement report, published twice a year since December of last year, is an indicator of the viewing status of members over a period of six months. It discloses the viewing time and number of views* of all produced and licensed works watched for at least 50,000 hours every half year. In the first half of this year, Netflix loved diverse content for approximately 94 billion hours of viewing.
According to this report, non-english content was hugely popular, making up a third of all viewing. Particularly, 3 K-dramas were listed in the top 10 non-English contents, including “Queen of Tears” (with 29 million viewers), “Parasite: The Gray” (25 million viewers), and “My Demon” (18 million viewers).
In addition, it was revealed that “Queen of Tears”, starring Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won, ranked 14th in the overall most viewed content on Netflix, surpassing various famous titles, even including English-speaking ones.
It seems that the popularity of “Queen of Tears” has once again been affirmed even on a worldwide scale.
