Min Hee-jin’s Side “No Agreement to Continue Producing NewJeans”

On August 30th, Min Hee-jin’s side stated, “On August 27th, ADOR’s board of directors announced to the media that Min Hee-jin would ‘continue to handle the production of NewJeans‘, but this was entirely unrelated to Min Hee-jin’s intentions and was a unilateral media play to which she did not agree.”

They further claimed, “The proposal to continue handling production, as communicated through the media, is one-sided and unreasonable, making it difficult to understand from a common-sense perspective.” They pointed out the following issues:

1. An extremely short two-month production contract.

2. A clause allowing ADOR’s board (HYBE) to unilaterally terminate the contract at any time.

Previously, on August 27th, ADOR announced, “The board of directors held a meeting and appointed ADOR’s in-house director Kim Joo-young as the new CEO. The internal organization of ADOR has also decided to separate production and management duties. This has been a consistent multi-label operation principle applied to all other labels, but ADOR was an exception where the CEO managed both production and business affairs.
