TAEIL (NCT) Under Investigation for Sexual Offense, Withdraws from Group

Recently, SM Entertainment announced that Taeil is withdrawing from NCT due to his involvement in a sexual offense case. Notably, SM took the initiative to address the issue before the news media could report on it.

SM Entertainment announced:

“Recently, we have confirmed that Taeil has been charged in a criminal case related to a sexual offense. During the investigation into the facts surrounding this case, we found the issue to be very serious and have decided that Taeil cannot continue his activities with the group. After discussing with Taeil, he has decided to leave the group.

Currently, Taeil is fully cooperating with the police investigation, and we will provide further information as the investigation progresses. We deeply apologize for the controversy caused by our artist.”

Taeil debuted as a member of NCT in 2016 and has been active as the main vocalist in the sub-group NCT 127 and the unit NCT U.
