On August 28 at 10:30 PM, MBC’s variety show Radio Star (planned by Kang Young-sun, directed by Kim Myung-yeop and Hwang Yoon-sang) will air a special episode titled “I Really Like You,” featuring guests Shin Gye-sook, Kang Joo-eun, Ye-won, and NMIXX’s Haewon.
Haewon, the leader of NMIXX and known as the “4th Generation Ambition Idol,” grabs attention with her variety show skills that even JYP Entertainment’s Park Jin-young can’t ignore. Despite it being her first appearance on Radio Star, Haewon showed no signs of nervousness, confidently declaring, “I’m here to take over Radio Star today!” Her bold charm reportedly captivated the show’s MCs, including Kim Gu-ra.
During the episode, Haewon revealed an impression she prepared for the show, proudly saying, “I was the original.” She amazed everyone with her flawless imitation of the MZ generation’s speech patterns, specifically mimicking Joo Hyun-young’s “Reporter Joo” and Ji Ye-eun’s “Chorong’s Girlfriend.” Not only did she nail the MZ-style speech, but she also impressed with her spot-on imitation of Kang Joo-eun.
A segment called the “Meme Quiz” was held to showcase Haewon’s meme skills, as she is known as the “Meme Genius” for her familiarity with countless memes. Additionally, Haewon shared the story of how one of her embarrassing moments became a meme. She confessed that during a BLACKPINK cover stage, she made a mistake in the first verse due to nerves from performing on such a large stage for the first time. Meanwhile, Haewon, who initially appeared as a guest on the YouTube channel Workdol Season 1, was later selected as the MC for Season 2 and has been actively participating.
