On August 9th, Kim Jae-joong posted a photo on his Instagram account with a caption, saying “Thanks to you guys, I’m appearing on ‘Inkigayo’ for the first time in 16 years. Please look forward to it”.
According to the released picture, Kim Jae-joong’s name was on the lineup for SBS’s “Inkigayo” broadcast on August 11th. He will perform the song “Glorious Day”, the title track of his 20th debut anniversary album “FLOWER GARDEN”.
Since this is Kim Jae-joong first appearance on a terrestrial music program in 16 years since TVXQ’s promotion of “Mirotic” album in 2008, the news aroused significant attention.
Kim Jae-joong made his debut as a member of TVXQ in 2003 and later formed the trio group JYJ with members Kim Jun-su and Park Yoo-chun after the three left SM Entertainment. The trio had a long-term dispute with SM over unfair contracts.
After the incident, Kim Jae-joong and the other two members were not able to appear on entertainment programs except for dramas and educational programs. In particular, “Inkigayo” is Kim Jae-joong’s first terrestrial music program after 16 years.
