Omega X’s Hwichan Sent to Prosecution on Charges of Sexual Assault Against Former Agency CEO

Omega X's Hwichan has been sent to the prosecution on charges of sexually assaulting his former agency's CEO

According to legal sources on August 2nd, the Seoul Seongdong Police Station forwarded Hwichan to the Seoul Eastern District Prosecutors’ Office on August 1st on charges of forced indecent act.

During a press conference in March, Omega X’s former agency Spire Entertainment claimed that “Hwichan, who was distressed about his upcoming military enlistment, suddenly forced himself on former CEO Kang while Kang was comforting him” and subsequently filed a police report.

Spire Entertainment also claimed that Hwichan, while under the influence of alcohol, touched former CEO Kang’s chest and even released CCTV footage of the incident.

Spire further stated, “We hesitated to file a criminal complaint because we did not want to turn a young member into a sex offender, but we had to respond when Omega X members countered by accusing Kang of forced indecent act.” In response, Omega X’s side argued that the incident was “a result of coercion by former CEO Kang“.

Since November 2022, Omega X and Spire Entertainment have been embroiled in a legal battle over allegations of forced indecent act and related matters.
