According to a report on July 31st, Song Ji-hyo won the lawsuit last December against her previous agency, UZUROCKS, for about 1 billion won. Despite the victory, she has yet to receive the payment. Her side plans to pursue debt collection procedures to recover the funds.
In November last year, the first trial court ruled that UZUROCKS was required to pay Song Ji-hyo 984 million won in settlement and some delayed interest.
UZUROCKS did not respond to the lawsuit after it was filed, leading the court to close the case as a default judgment according to civil procedure laws.
UZUROCKS did not appeal within the allowed period, resulting in Song Ji-hyo’s final victory. However, seven months later, she has still not received the settlement payment.
Meanwhile, Song Ji-hyo notified UZUROCKS of the termination of her exclusive contract in April last year. In May last year, she filed a settlement claim lawsuit with the court and reported the former UZUROCKS representative to the police for alleged embezzlement. In October of the same year, she signed an exclusive contract with NEXUS E&M.
