On July 30th, when OSEN asked Hani’s agency Sublime if Hani was aware of Yang Jae-woong’s patient death incident, the agency responded, “We are not in a position to comment on this matter, so we have nothing to say.”
On July 26th, it was reported that a patient died 17 days after being admitted to a hospital run by a famous psychiatrist. According to the reports, the patient was admitted for treatment of addiction to diet pills containing narcotic substances but died of pseudo-obstruction of the intestines after 17 days.
CCTV footage revealed that hospital staff only restrained the patient’s hands and feet despite the patient complaining of stomach pain and showed no response even when the patient’s abdomen swelled and they had a nosebleed, causing shock. It was later revealed that the hospital where the incident occurred was Yang Jae-woong’s.
The patient death incident happened on May 27th, and Yang Jae-woong announced his marriage to Hani shortly after, on June 1st. As a result, Hani faced negative comments, with some netizens speculating that she must have known about the incident and criticizing her. However, Hani’s agency told OSEN that they had no comment on the controversy.
Hani and Yang Jae-woong publicly announced their relationship in June 2022, revealing they had been dating for two years. They announced their marriage after four years of dating and two years of publicly dating. The wedding is scheduled for September.
