Psy Thanks Fans Instead Of Apologizing After “Summer Swag” Emergency Suspension
Singer Psy expressed his gratitude toward the audience after the suspension of the recent “Summer Swag” show
After Psy’s agency P Nation released a statement regarding the sudden suspension of “Summer Swag” at Parking Square of Seoul Grand Park in Gwacheon on July 20th due to bad weather, Psy made a separate post expressing his feelings.
On his SNS account, Psy said, “It was an unpredictable situation that I’d never experienced before”, adding “The most important thing at that moment was the safety of the audience and staff. I want to thank all the audiences for your calm responses”.
He continued, “Each and every one of you came a long way to watch the show earlier today with high expectations. However, due to unexpected weather conditions, we had no choice but to stop the performance. I was also very upset to see everyone leave”. He added, “For people who have the tickets or booking details for the show and wish to receive a refund, we will proceed with a refund for you. For those who want to attend the rescheduled show, we will arrange seats for you again”.
Lastly, Psy said, “On behalf of 1500 staff members and myself, I sincerely thank the audience for your precious visit. We hope to show you our efforts to prepare the performances again on a good day”.
In particular, Psy’s post aroused keen attention as it was full of thanks, rather than apologies. In fact, there was no need for Psy to apologize because his agency had already stated responses to the issue, guidance, and expression of appreciation to fans.
Earlier, Psy’s agency said, “Prioritizing the safety of the audience and staff, we decided to suspend ‘Summer Swag 2024’ in Gwacheon because it was difficult to proceed with normal performances due to heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds in the area”, adding “We will refund ‘Summer Swag 2024’ in Gwacheon’s ticket holders sequentially through the ticket reservation office where you purchased them. We will confirm details regarding the rescheduled performance for ticket holders of today’s show and announce it in a separate notice”.
