Earlier on July 13th, Park Gyu-ri’s agency Big Boss Entertainment stated, “Park Gyu-ri recently suffered a cheekbone fracture and orbital fracture while doing personal schedule. She already visited the hospital and underwent a thorough examination.”

The agency said, “As a result of the examination, surgery should be carried out in consideration of the location of the injury. The medical staff informed that it would take 4-5 weeks for Park Gyu-ri to recover from the operation”.

They continued, “After careful discussion, the actress and our company have decided that she should avoid excessive activities during the treatment period and focus on recovery”, adding “Therefore, activities in July will not proceed as scheduled”.

In addition, the agency stated, “Considering the health and safety of the actress as the top priority, we will do our best to help Park Gyu-ri recover as soon as possible”.

Park Gyu-ri was preparing to make a comeback with Kara. Kara will return to the music race by releasing their digital single “I Do I Do” on July 24th. This is their new song after a year and 8 months since the release of their special album “MOVE AGAIN” in November 2022. Therefore, Korean and overseas fans are raising high expectations for the comeback.

However, Park Gyu-ri was injured two weeks before the comeback, putting the group comeback in a critical situation. Kara will release their new song in late July, but promotional activities may be affected by Park Gyu-ri’s hiatus for treatment and recovery.

In addition, Kara also plans to hold their solo concert “2024 KARASIA” in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan in August. Fans are waiting to see whether Park Gyu-ri will be able to recover and perform at the concert with the group.
