FRED Jewelry Sold Out Quickly After BTS Jin’s Global Brand Ambassador Announcement

Right after BTS’s Jin was selected as FRED’s first global band ambassador, the brand’s luxury jewelries were sold out

FRED announced Jin as their first global brand ambassador on July 8th (Korean time). The brand stated, “Maison FRED is pleased to announce its new Global Brand Ambassador: Jin of 21st-century pop icons BTS”, and showed Jin’s photo on its official website.

Jin also posted a picture of him wearing FRED jewelry on Instagram with the caption, “Grateful to be part of the FRED family as the Global Brand Ambassador. Please look forward to my new and diverse activities with FRED in the future”, expressing his feelings.

FRED is a leading European luxury high jewelry brand especially loved by legendary movie star and Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly as well as European royals. For the first time in 88 years since its establishment in 1936, the brand has selected BTS’s Jin as their first global brand ambassador.

After the news of Jin becoming FRED’s global brand ambassador spread, the bracelet worth 37.5 million won worn by Jin in his pictorials was quickly sold out on FRED’s official website. The Force 10 Iconic necklace worth 134.5 million won Jin wore also went out of stock. The 17.2-million-won earrings in Jin’s pictorials are currently not available for sale.

FRED’s official website was paralyzed due to excessive access that day, proving Jin’s immense popularity and influence as a global superstar.

After announcing Jin as their global ambassador, FRED also recorded the highest number of searches on Google over the past five years. Thanks to Jin, search terms related to FRED received explosive responses around the world, including the US. 

Known as a “Sold Out King”, Jin has constantly presented “Jin’s Effect” both before enlisting and after being discharged from the military on December 22nd, as all the products, from fashion to food and drink, he advertised have been sold out quickly. 

According to the food industry, domestic instant noodles exports have shown significant growth thanks to the Academy Award won by the 2020 movie ‘Parasite’ and Jin’s advertising effect. After becoming an advertising model for Ottogi Jin Ramen in 2022, Ottogi recorded the highest figures in both sales and operating profit of their major products, such as ramen, convenience food, and sauce last year.
