According to the Gwangju Fire Department, on July 7th, 78 spectators complained of heat-related symptoms during the ‘Psy SUMMER SWAG 2024′ held at the World Cup Stadium in Seo-gu, Gwangju, and four were transported to the hospital.
On July 6th, when SUMMER SWAG was held, the perceived temperature in Gwangju reached 31.3 degrees Celsius. The heatwave warning, which had been in effect since July 5th, was downgraded to a heatwave advisory at 10 a.m. KST on the day of the event.
Previously, in June of last year, a concert at the Olympic Main Stadium in Jamsil Sports Complex in Seoul was temporarily suspended when an audience member showed symptoms of exhaustion.
