4 similarities between “All Of Us Are Dead” and “Train To Busan”: the blood-boiling antagonists, the same characters with the same ending!

“All Of Us Are Dead” is as invested as the blockbuster “Train to Busan”.

All Of Us Are Dead” is currently the hottest series online. With a fascinating plot about a zombie apocalypse that breaks out in Hyosan City, this series indeed reminds viewers of the blockbuster “Train To Busan”. Both use the zombie apocalypse as a way to “heal” a rotten society that is reaching its end, but also to show that there’s still hope in humanity.

1. The same enormous scale, but even scarier zombies!

Even though “All Of Us Are Dead” has been controversial ever since its premiere that it’s won’t be able to be on the same level with other zombie works such as “Kingdom”, “Alive”,…this high school zombie series has done well beyond expectation. Especially, the zombies are even scarier than their “seniors”. According to many news sources, this production team has put a lot of effort into the casting of zombie actors as well as continuous practice to provide the audience the best experience.

2. The tear-jerking high-school crush story

As there’s a saying that goes: “Children is the hope of their country,” both have the story of students and their innocent love. The love that swears to be by each other’s side through life and death between Young Guk (Choi Woo Sik) – Jin Hee (Ahn So Hee), Cheon Sang (Yoon Chan Young) – On Jo (Park Ji Hoo), and Soo Hyuk (Park Solomon) – Nam Ra (Cho Yi Hyun) remains people of the devastating Sewol Ferry disaster in 2014 which cost the lives of hundreds of students in South Korea.

3. Villains aren’t just the zombies

The zombie pandemic seems to be a catalyst for people to reveal their true nature behind the mask of gentleness and kindness.  In “Train To Busan,” the scene of a man in power pushing others to death to be his shield angered viewers.  The drama “All Of Us Are Dead” also has a series of similar scenes, notably when the character Na Yeon (Lee Yoo Mi) killed her classmate to save herself because of jealousy and selfishness. However, both of these characters have tragic endings as they both turned into zombies.

 4. A horror drama with many deeply emotional scenes

However, besides the scary and poignant details depicted, both “Train To Busan” and “All Of Us Are Dead” convey warm rays of hope about the kindness of people left in that corrupt society. In “Train To Busan, Seok Woo (Gong Yoo), a work-addict father, devoted his life to protecting his young daughter Soo An, and he became a hero in the eyes of the child. “All Of Us Are Dead” also has many scenes about such sacrifices of teachers, classmates and parents.
