These dramas are considered fun, but fail to appeal to the Korean public.
Starting with a low rating of 0.8%, after two weeks of airing, “Love is for Suckers” ratings could only increase slightly to 1.5%. Marking Super Junior’s Siwon’s highly-anticipated comeback to the small screen, “Love is for Suckers” is sadly considered a flop. With a fairly familiar narrative of the friends-to-lovers trope, “Love is for Suckers” is not deemed boring but is perhaps not exciting enough.
Unlike “Love is for Suckers”, “Mental Coach Jegal” depicts a story that is new in K-dramas. However, it still records low ratings. The drama follows a mental health coach whose job is to help athletes find inspiration in practice and competition. Currently, the drama has broadcast until episode 12, but the ratings only peaked at under 2%.
3. Cheer Up
Marking the return of “Penthouse” star Han Ji Hyun, “Cheer Up” is another ongoing drama that fails to achieve high ratings domestically. The ratings are around 2%, barely reaching 3%. However, thanks to the charm of the young visual cast and the fun love triangle in the drama, “Cheer Up” is discussed a lot among international K-drama fans.
4. Blind
The most regrettable case on this list is “Blind”
led by 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon. “Blind” is an investigation-action drama with a thrilling, unpredictable story with twists that is supposed to attract many viewers. However, the late airtime (22:40) combined with a plot that is not for everyone can’t help “Blind” gain high ratings. The ratings of the drama are only around 1-2%.
