2NE1 & Yang Hyun-suk Met After 8 Years, Will They Join Hands Again?

According to YG Entertainment, executive producer Yang Hyun-suk and 2NE1 members CL, Park Bom, Sandara Park and Gong Minzy had a meeting at YG office building in Hapjeong-dong, Seoul on June 27th.

Yang Hyun-suk welcomed each of the four 2NE1 members warmly. YG reported that their official meeting, which lasted for two hours, was full of meaningful and considerate conversations. 

For YG, 2NE1 is definitely a special group. Although BLACKPINK has established themselves as a world-class girl group and BABYMONSTER also made a successful debut recently, 2NE1 is still the beginning of YG girl groups with “YG DNA”.

The reason Yang Hyun-suk and 2NE1’s meeting received keen attention from fans and K-pop fans around the world is that this is not a private gathering but an official meeting with the members visiting YG office for the first time. In addition, considering the members meeting Yang Hyun-suk in person to celebrate their 15th debut anniversary, there is a high possibility that 2NE1 is planning a new project together.

YG stated, “As Yang Hyun-suk and 2NE1 members met and had their first conversation for the first time in 8 years, no specific plan has yet to be made. It was an opportunity for Yang Hyun-suk, who has a special affection for 2NE1, to listen to the members’ requests and sympathize with them. We also look forward to delivering good news to fans soon”.

After making their debut with the single “Fire” in 2009, 2NE1 gained huge love by releasing numerous hit songs such as “I Don’t Care”, “Go Away”, “Lonely”, “Ugly”, “Come Back Home”, “I Am The Best”, “Can’t Nobody”, etc.
