YGX Academy Closed Down, Even Dancers Are Leaving YG?

On the evening of April 30th, the official account of YGX suddenly announced that YGX would end its operation. In particular, they said, “We regret to inform you that YGX Academy will end operations on April 30th, 2024. Thank you for your support”.

YGX Academy is a dance academy organized by YG Entertainment. It provided choreographies lessons for young people all over the world who like dancing. These lessons are instructed by dancers who have been working with YG artists such as BIGBANG, BLACKPINK, iKON, WINNER, BABYMONSTER, etc.

Upon hearing the sudden news, fans were very shocked as they just saw YGX carry out dance lessons recently. Many YGX dancers also apologized to fans for the sudden announcement on their personal SNS accounts.

In particular, dancer Park Eun-chong, BLACKPINK’s backup dancer and BABYMONSTER’s choreographer, shared, “Thank you for your participation in the dance lessons. I’ll meet you guys again in a better position!”.

Kwon Young-deuk also left an apology, saying “You guys must be so shocked by this news. I’m sorry that we could not inform you guys beforehand and I’m also very sad that the place where I had been working hard just disappeared. But please know that this is not the end. Don’t worry too much. If you care and love us, we will make sure to shine in our next chapter. Trust me. I’ll be back soon. I’m always thankful for your support and I’ll work harder”.

Another dancer also shared his feelings on Instagram, saying “I participated in the last lesson of YGX. There were many memories in the past 4 years. It was such a meaningful time. Thank you for supporting and loving us. I’ll become a better dancer in the future”.

The news of YGX suddenly closing down caused YG fans to worry that the dancers would also leave YG as many artists did. However, some pointed out that they only closed the Academy and stopped all the lessons. In short, YGX is still active as a dance team under YG Entertainment.
