HYBE Staff React to Cult Accusations with Sarcasm, Public Opinion Manipulation Suspected?

Suspicions have arisen regarding HYBE’s connection to a cult, leading to notable reactions from internal staff.

On April 30, TenAsia reported that on the HYBE board of the anonymous workplace community Blind, which requires company email verification, an employee posted, “HYBE employees supposedly meditate and do yoga every morning, brainwashing everyone into the cult Dahn World. The conspiracy theories surrounding this company are just too hilarious.”

According to the report, another employee commented, “I’m laughing ironically; I didn’t realize I cared this much. It’s all just absurd.”

In response to these posts, other employees affiliated with HYBE labels left comments seemingly mocking the suspicions, such as “Hilarious. Please give us some time to do yoga and meditation in the morning. I want to join too,” and “Don’t be late for the 9 a.m. meditation class.”

Furthermore, suspicions have been raised that the CEO of HYBE-affiliated label ADOR, Min Hee-jin, utilized the services of a public relations firm to manipulate public opinion, with some suggesting that they engaged in online PR activities.

One employee claimed, “They’re apparently using an online PR company for public opinion manipulation,” and expressed frustration, saying, “Are these online PR firms really specialized in public opinion manipulation? Are we just going to accept this? It’s unfair unless you’re in the same industry; otherwise, you’d just believe it.”

However, these are merely allegations, and there is no evidence to suggest ADOR’s involvement in manipulating public opinion.

Previously, HYBE launched an internal audit after suspicions arose of attempts by CEO Min and ADOR’s management to seize control of the label.

On the 25th, CEO Min denied allegations of attempted seizure of control during an emergency press conference. Additionally, during the conference, a KakaoTalk message implying threats related to NewJeans‘ “OMG” music video content was revealed, causing a stir.

Following this, some netizens claimed that NewJeans’ “OMG” music video contains content dissing HYBE’s involvement with Dahn World.

On the 29th, HYBE announced plans to vigorously address various suspicions related to Dahn World and stated their determination to provide explanations.

On the same day, an official statement was posted on the BTS official Weverse regarding attempts to tarnish BTS’s reputation and spread malicious rumors, stating that legal action would be taken against such acts.

Furthermore, when suspicions arose that Global Cyber University, from which all BTS members except Jin graduated, was associated with Dahn World, the university rebutted, stating, “They all enrolled in Global Cyber University before their official debut or gaining fame as BTS.”
